Manoj Ambat is the proud heir to a rich cultural and ancestral legacy rooted in Kerala’s nobility, intellectual tradition, and civilizational ethos. Born to Ankarath Venugopalan Unny and Ambat Hemalatha, Manoj’s lineage reflects a harmonious blend of aristocratic heritage and dharmic values.

I am married to Vidya Variyath, an entrepreneur and artist who runs her own successful cloud kitchen. Her creativity and resilience continue to inspire our family journey

A Legacy of Two Great Lineages

​

On his paternal side, Manoj traces his ancestry to HH Kerala Varma of the Cochin Royal Family and Ankarath Thankam Nethiyar of the renowned Ankarath Family — households known for their grace, dignity, and deep involvement in Kerala’s historic and cultural narrative. These familial roots imbued Manoj with a strong awareness of identity, responsibility, and service.

On his maternal side, Manoj descends from Kunjunni Mooplil Nair of the Mannarkkad Nair Family, a respected and traditional matrilineal house in North Kerala, and Ambat Kalyankutty Amma, a woman of wisdom and poise. This lineage brought him closer to Kerala’s agrarian traditions, valor, and unwavering adherence to dharma.

Raised in an environment that celebrated both classical Indian thought and the pursuit of righteous action, Manoj grew up grounded in values of satya (truth), nyaya (justice), and seva (service).

A Life in Law and Nation-First Thinking

​

Professionally, Manoj is an Advocate by calling — practicing across civil, criminal, matrimonial, and consumer forums in Kerala. In keeping with Bar Council regulations, his legal work is not detailed here, but his career is marked by dedication, discretion, and devotion to the Indian Constitution and legal traditions.

He believes that the law must serve not just as a tool for adjudication but as a guardian of India’s civilizational heritage and national interests.

Ideas, Identity, and Bharat

Manoj is also the Editor-in-Chief of Strategic Vanguard, a platform that offers a firm, unapologetic, and informed voice on defense, geopolitics, and strategic affairs — all from an Indian perspective. A primary member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manoj holds centre-right and culturally rooted views, aligned with the broader idea of Bharat as a civilizational state.

Though no longer engaged in active politics, his worldview remains informed by nationalism, strategic realism, and the conviction that India must rise on its own terms — grounded in its civilizational confidence, security consciousness, and spiritual integrity.
